Merit-based scholarships are available for outstanding students in our Department. Different categories are offered by different sources such as the Taiwan Government, NTU, Department of Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Alumni Association, alumni’s individual donation, industry sponsorship,
and so on.
NTU & Taiwan Scholarships
Every year, Taiwan Government offers scholarships to encourage and attract international students with excellent academic performance to come study in Taiwan. Detailed information of Government Scholarships are listed on the Office of International Affairs (OIA) website. Please contact with relevant offices for further information on Government Scholarships.
CE Department Scholarships
Department of Civil Engineering (CE) offers scholarships both to encourage students with excellent academic performance and also to those in financial needs. Application documents are to be reviewed by the CE Scholarship Committee according to the Scholarship Guidelines and administered by the Department.
International Students:
Sinotech Scholarships
Eligibility:
Outstanding International Ph.D. degree students, especially from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam
Scholarship Grants:
Monthly stipend of NTD 20,000 for a period of one (1) year
Priority for Local and Overseas Chinese Students:
NTU Civil Engineering Culture and Education Foundation Scholarships
Eligibility:
Students studying in the second, third, or fourth year of the Undergraduate Program
Available Awards:
► One (1) award goes to students with excellent academic performance in the previous academic year and is passionate about volunteering.
► Two (2) awards are offered to students from underprivileged families who have excellent academic performance in the previous academic year.
Scholarship Grants:
NTD 6000 / semester, for 2 semesters
Alumni Association Scholarships
Eligibility:
Students from underprivileged families who have good academic records in the previous year: undergraduates with a GPA of 70 and higher; graduates with a GPA of 80 and higher
Available Awards:
► Two (2) awards are offered to third or fourth year Civil Engineering students
► Four (4) awards will be recommended by the Student Association
► Two (2) awards go to second year Master students, second year Ph.D. students, or students who pursuit directly from Master to first year Ph.D. degree.

Alumni Scholarships
Available Awards:
► Two (2) awards are to be granted to current second, third, or fourth year outstanding students who are passionate about volunteering.
► One (1) award will be offered to outstanding undergraduate student from underprivileged family.

Memorial Scholarships
Available Awards:
► Eight (8) awards are provided to third or fourth year undergraduate Civil Engineering students
► Four (4) awards will be granted to graduate students of the Hydraulics Engineering Division.
Scholarship Grants:
Undergraduate students will each receive NTD 10,000. Graduate students of the Hydraulics Engineering Division will each be awarded NTD 20,000.
Grants for attending International Conferences Abroad
Eligibility:
Applicant must be the first author of the published paper. All students are limited to receive the Grants 1 time during their Master’s studies and 1 time during the Doctoral studies. The Grants are designated for paying the registration fee and airfare and should be applied 2 months before the Conference takes place. Those who have already received grants elsewhere to pay for the registration fee and airfare will be excluded to receive this Grants.
Scholarship Grants:
The amount of the award varies according to the region in which the meeting is held. The maximum amount of grants are as followed: to Europe, America, Oceania, Africa, and the former Soviet Union, NTD 30,000; to Central Asia, South Asia, and Japan, NTD 20,000; and to Southeast Asia, South Korea, Mainland China, and Hong Kong, NTD 15,000.
Yutang Scholarships
Eligibility:
Third year undergraduate student whose academic GPA are higher than 3.38 in the second year and the first semester of the third year, and both Engineering Material and Soil Mechanics Lab, and Structural Theory and Fluid Mechanics Lab’s GPA should be placed top 20% in class.
