Non-tenure-track Faculty Position Opening at the Department of Civil Engineering, National Taiwan University

The Department of Civil Engineering at the National Taiwan University invites applications for non-tenure-track faculty positions, including all levels of assistant, associate, and full professors. Applicants with expertise and teaching interests in parts of the following courses are welcome.

Teaching requirments:

  1. At least 16 hours of courses should be conducted each week. Among them, 6 to 7 hours should be spent on conducting university-wide or college-wide fundamental courses. The rest of the time would be on courses arranged by the department.
  2. In principle, all courses should be taught in English.
  3. In addition to the formal semester courses, support on university educational programs, such as prerequisite courses, short-term international program, etc., is expected.
  4. The teaching evaluation should follow the university regulations.

Intended starting date: August 1, 2021

 

Each applicant should hold a doctoral degree in civil engineering or a highly related field by the starting date and must provide the following materials:

 

Applicant not applying the Teacher Certificate

  1. A cover letter;
  2. Application for Faculty Position Form (can be downloaded from: HERE );
  3. A copy of personal ID card including both sides(A copy of passport first page for international applicants)
  4. A curriculum vitae that states academic and work experience, expertise, list of publications, and possible courses to teach;
  5. Current and past employment certificate(s) (foreign certificates should be original)
  6. A statement of teaching plans for the next five years (6 pages maximum);
  7. A copy of the official doctorate degree certificate, if available;
  8. A copy of the transcript of graduate studies (if applicants are applying for an assistant professor position);
  9. Contact information of 3 to 5 references;

 

Applicant applying the Teacher Certificate should additionally provide

  1. A list of publications;
  2. One representative technical paper published within five years before the intended starting date and at most five selected technical papers published within seven years before the intended starting date (can be downloaded from: HERE )
