Instructions for Master Thesis and Ph.D. Dissertation Defense

1. Students applying for the thesis/dissertation defense must have taken all the required credits and gained consent from the advisor(s).

2. Deadlines are listed below:

Apply: by September 17, 2021
Conduct Defense: by October 18, 2021
Withdraw: by October 18, 2021
Submit Thesis/Dissertation: by November 1, 2021

3. Apply online via “myNTU” by selecting Students  Curriculum  Online Application System for the Oral Thesis/Dissertation Defenses.

• Master Students: After applying online, please print out the application form, obtain your advisor’s signature, and submit it with your “Academic Achievement Record for Graduate Students” to the Division Manager before September 17, 2021.
• Ph.D. Students: After applying online, please print out the application form, obtain your advisor’s signature, and submit it with your “Academic Achievement Record for Graduate Students” to the Department staff Mr. Danny SHEN before September 17, 2021. For other Ph.D. degree exam required materials, please refer to https://www.ce.ntu.edu.tw/en/application-of-doctoral-degree-examination-in-2020-2021-2nd-semester/

4. Students who have applied for the thesis/dissertation defense but cannot complete it on time must withdraw the application by October 18, 2021 or it will be counted as failing the defense once.
