Geotechnical Engineering
Given the special natural environment of Taiwan (geological weaknesses and vagaries, frequent disasters such as storms and earthquakes, a large population with insufficient living areas, a tunnel interrupted by eastern and western mountains, and large requirements for underground space), our research is aimed at five basic areas: soil mechanics, basic engineering, soil dynamics, rock mechanics and geological engineering. Our group expects to strengthen foundation research and engage in actively applied research topics such as earthquake engineering, slope disaster management, environmental geographic engineering, special foundation engineering problems, tunnel and underground space development, geographic information systems, etc., and present these research outcomes worldwide.
