For undergraduate study, the Department
has developed a curriculum providing students with a broad
base on which to build an engineering career. Courses include
both basic sciences (physics, chemistry, and applied mathematics),
and engineering sciences(mechanics, materials, computer programming,
fluid mechanics, graphics engineering, structural theory,
surveying, soil mechanics, reinforced concrete, hydraulic
engineering, environmental engineering, transportation engineering,
hydrology, foundation engineering, and engineering geology).
The Department of Civil Engineering provides civil engineering
laboratory courses on materials, structure, soil and hydraulics.
To obtain a B.S.C.E.degree, a student has to complete a minimum
of 141 credit hours. In addition to 113 required credit hours,
according to his/her own interest and career goal, student
also has to complete at least 28 credit hocus of elective
courses. Courses intended exclusively for graduate study are
offered in addition to those intended for both graduate and
undergraduate students. The students are free to choose from
these courses as well as others provided by other departments
of the University in order to help them satisfy their academic
interests and achieve their career goals. |
